As a jewelry designer that pushes myself to continually hit my individual stride, I have a huge appreciation for originality in other designs. There are some truly fabulous designers out there (and many not-so-fabulous.) So, when I come upon a truly astonishing work I vow to bring it here and share it with the readers of my little blog.
Today, I’m shining the light on Kath Inglis, a ridiculously talented and truly original artist hailing from Australia. I recently stumbled on her Etsy shop Wear No Evil. Kath’s signature pieces are meticulously hand carved jewelry patterns in tinted PVC plastic, a single piece taking hours to complete. I also dig the urban detail of the wired corset-like closure on each bangle. Just admire the craftmanship and beautiful modernity please.
Here are a few of my favorite things…
Harvest Cuff

Skin Deep Bangle

Fan Bangle
(I know the fans are intended to reference oriental fabric, but the presence of fans inevitably appeals to my strong passion for all things Art Deco…)

They are so intricate and beautiful but I am so not cool enough to pull off wearing giant plastic bracelets! Thanks for shining the light upon interesting artists!

Wow, the grey one is nice. Remind me of corset actually. Hmmm…I am quite into restructured clothings myself. In fact, I did a few for myself past two weeks. I see that you are quite into that too.^^
